What have we've been up to???

It's been awhile since I have actually written a post. Sometimes (always) it's easier to just post a few pictures and be done. But, I've decided it's time to fill you in on what the kids have been up to.

Let's start with Maya. Well, she's still ALL girl and loves to scream. She's going through this Dora phase. She loves anything girly and pink. If it's pink she seems to think it's hers, even when it's a pair of MY underwear! Her hair is still trying to grow. It just keeps getting longer in the back and the top's still short. Chad calls her our little caveman since she's decided that she doesn't want anything in her hair. I have to give her candy to get her to wear piggy tails. She talks a TON and repeats anything she hears. She also has been going in time out lately. It's funny how she sits in the corner and pouts. She's very dramatic and is constantly demanding things and bugging her brothers. She is the typical "little sister".

Jack has a few new habits. As some of you know, he's always had a few "tics". He use to have this nervous cough, then he whistled through his missing tooth, now he scratches his ankles and licks his hands. It's really bizarre how he comes up with these habits. As soon as we get out of the car or go outside Jack bends down to scratch the inside then the outside of his ankles. The hand licking thing Chad noticed. It's getting worse and it's also disgusting....especially when we went to the fair today and he kept licking. Yuck! Jack is still testing me with his potty words and gets soap in his mouth quite often. He loves his new leapster video game and gets to play it during "quiet" time instead of taking a nap...which the boys have sadly outgrown.

Adam has been FULL of questions lately. "Why isn't pee blue", "Why don't my hands have eyes", "Where do people go when they die", "Why does Maya have a 'gina", ...And no matter my answer he still says "Why". It's like groundhog day around here. Same questions, same answer, and repeat. Adam is still really in to "boy" stuff. He turns anything and everything into a gun, insists on wearing and having anything black and is truly a daddy's boy. When Chads around he doesn't want me....which I welcome! Adam loves music and has informed me that tv hurts his brain. Which isn't a problem unless I'm trying to keep Maya awake in the car and I need the DVD player on.

School starts the Wednesday after Labor day. We are all ready and excited to start. The boys will be going Mon/Weds/Fri in the mornings and Maya will start a 2 year old program in January. The boys are starting outdoor soccer this fall and will hopefully do swimming. I'd like to get Maya in to something, but we'll see.

We went to the fair today, so I'll try to post pictures later. Babysitter comes at 3:00 so Chad and I can go to the parade of homes....better go!

Just another Sunday...

Today Devon came over and the kids decided to dress up. Naturally, Adam was a pirate. Devon wore Adam's old pirate costume, Jack wore his size 12-24 month halloween costume and Maya wore her tutu and headband.

Later, Chad cooked lobster. Just another Sunday dinner...HA! Chad showed the kids the lobsters then we told them they were going back to the store. We didn't have the heart to tell them we were going to eat them.

After the kids ate dinner they went to vacation bible school. It's at their preschool's church. They seemed to love it except it's from 6-8:30. Both boys were so tired when we got home. I'm hoping the nap today...

New big girl room!

I absolutely love Maya's new room! It's a bit busy, cheesy and matchy-matchy, but I love it. Most importantly Maya loves it. I made sure to leave room for her new baby doll high chair and cradle that she's getting for her birthday. I also thought it was funny that she immediately hid under her bed. When I was little I did that, too!

Boys vs. girls

The boys are in this potty talk phase right now. It's driving me crazy! They can't even say more than a few words without adding the word "diaper", "poopy" or "wee wee" in their sentences. They aren't allowed to say the word "butt" so in stead they say "peanut BUTTer" or "BUTTons" and laugh their heads off. They are also in to showing their privates and sticking their bottoms in each others faces. Oh, burping and spitting is really popular around here too. I've tried to put them in their rooms for time out, but I have found that they are in there all the time and don't really care. Ugh, this boy stuff is driving me nuts!

Maya, on the other hand, is such a girl. All day long she SCREAMS! She screams and demands stuff from me all the time. If the boys take something from her or sometimes even just get near her, she screams. Yesterday she was screaming her head off while I was in the shower. I went to the playroom to see what was going on (getting ready to yell at Jack to stop bugging her) and she was by herself screaming because she couldn't put her blanket on. She likes to scream when she's excited and happy too.

I have a house full of screaming potty talking kids! When does preschool start????
