Day 1 of summer was a SUCCESS!

What a great day!  I tried really hard to not get distracted by any projects and focus on staying organized today.  It worked!  Kids got up and did their chores.  Each one has a specific chore they have to do before they go play.  They also have to eat breakfast and brush their teeth.  Seems like common sense...not to them.  We also have a summer rule of not electronics from 9:00am to 7:00pm.  The kids can earn an hour of playing time during the day if they do a reading/comprehensive worksheet with me.  Both boys happily earned an extra hour.

Maya had her first tutor session at the library.  She loved it and the boys sat quietly (ok, maybe not quietly) doing their summer workbooks. Adam and I had our second golf lesson together.  It's so fun.  Adam especially likes that it's just us.  I do too!  Jack starts hockey tomorrow.

Other than the kids sports and day camps, we are hoping to go to the pool a lot.  Maya has swimmers ear so she has to stay out of the pool for a few days.  Our patio is almost finished.  The kids are super excited to have fires, smores, and camp in the back yard.

Summer 2016!

Three years later...

A lot has happened in the last few years.  The two major events are we now live in Minnesota and Lola died.  I'm not going to go on and on about all that has happened, so my blog posts will be as though I didn't miss three years.

Summer is here!  Today is the first day of our summer vacation.  We have lots of activities scheduled.  I don't like to overbook the kids, but I also don't like when they are home all day bored fighting each other.

Today we meet Maya's tutor at the library at noon.  Then later at 5:30 Adam and I have a parent/child golf lesson.  So fun!

Birthday Boys!

I can't believe my amazing boys are 7!  I love them so much and I am so proud to be their mom.

They had their birthday party at SkyZone, an indoor trampoline place.  The kids loved it and I loved it because the staff did everything.  All I had to do was bring the cupcakes.  I think we are done with having parties at home.  It's just easier to have it somewhere else!

Summer!

We've had some fun times this summer camping in the backyard!  After telling stories and laughing the kids usually fall right to sleep!

The kids have always wanted to get their faces painted at the zoo.  I have always said "no" because it's so expensive.  Well I decided to finally cave in and let them.  I'm so glad I did!  Adam and Maya really liked it.  Jack liked his at first but when we got home he was embarrassed and washed it off.  I'm so happy we did it and I have pictures of it!

Champions!  The boys won the Playoff' games!  The did a great job and had the most amazing coach!

CHAMPIONS!  The Dodgers won 1st place!

Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!  Okay, so this post is about a week behind...oh well.  For father's day we surprised Chad with a camping trip.  The kids were SUPER excited!  Saturday, after the boys baseball game, we headed to Indian Lake.  It was clear and sunny in New Albany but as we drove an hour towards the lake it started to get cloudy and rain.

We got to our campsite, popped the tent, and started a fire.  The kids swam in the lake, we roasted hotdogs and made smores.  After about 5 hours of playing, making friends and enjoying time outside, we headed back home.  It started to rain more and it was suppose to rain all night and the next day.  Even tho we didn't stay the night we all had a great time.

On Father's Day we went out for lunch.  Maya spoiled daddy with a back rub and she combed his hair!  Later, our friends came over for dinner.

( I'm never in pictures so Adam and I took one together)

In other news....Jack earned the game ball!   A few games back he really ran hard and hit really well, so the coached gave him the ball.  Yay!  He was pretty pumped!
