Overdue update

I have attempted to post many, many times, but my free moments come and go so quickly! So, this morning I gave the kids a Christmas present to buy some time. Mistakenly, I let them open their new trampoline (thanks Papa John!), and now they are fighting over turns. I just hope no one looses a tooth or gets a concussion!

The boys have gotten so big lately. Both physically and maturity wise. I always swore I wouldn't let my kids wear too short pants, but I have. It seems like all the sudden they are outgrowing all of their clothes. My plan of stocking up on fall/winter clothes in the summer definitely backfired.

We are currently working on getting them to sleep without night diapers. Adam is 100% off nite diapers, but Jack is still wetting the bed every couple of days. I don't mind the nite diapers, but Jack takes his off in the middle of the night. He hates wearing one so I figured it's time to get rid of them all together. It's hard for him because he drinks SO much during the day and at dinner. As most of you know, we call him the "milk bandit". If he can find a sippy cup, he will drink it! After dinner they only get a sip of water when they brush their teeth, but he still has to pee in the night. Usually when I go to bed I take him to the potty one last time. At least we are on our way.

The boys are so different as far as their likes and dislikes. Adam is going through this phase where he wants everything black. Black clothes, black socks, he only wants to use black crayons, paper and play dough! It took me about 30 minutes to get his play dough black, then I discovered they sell black food coloring, which makes it easier when I make it. Adam still loves pirates (still wears his pirate costume daily) and anything "scary". He keeps telling me he wants a pirate ship and a gun from Santa. I've go the pirate ship, but the gun thing will have to wait. Every time he plays with his tinker toys he's always trying to make a "big gun". At first I didn't want them to have guns this early, but I found that he just wants to use pretend guns. Our dear neighbors, Bill and Marilyn, saw that Adam was playing with a stick and using it as a gun, and asked if he had a play gun. I said no, but didn't go into details of not wanting them to have one yet. Well, the next day they bought Adam and Jack these real looking pistols that cock and make a shooting noise. The boys loved them at first but now they don't play with them.

Jack is still totally into animals. He has this orange shirt with a tiger on it and wants to wear it daily. Orange is his favorite color too. He still can't tell his colors apart (color blind maybe?) but he know orange. He wants a orange dinosaur for Christmas. At first he wanted trains, then changed it to a dinosaur. I told him he can't keep changing what he wants on Santa! Jack is still FULL on energy. I think his favorite thing to do is jump on his bed and bug Maya. Most mornings he runs to Maya crib and gets in with her before he even comes in to wake me up. He loves to take her baby and tease her (which I think she secretly likes!) Jack told Kinsey he loved her. He walked up to her and yelled in her face "I love you, Kinsey!". It was so funny and sweet.

Maya is also doing great. She loves her brothers so much. She copies them all day long. Unfortunately, she takes her toys and makes shooting noises with them, but what can I do! Maya is so serious when we are in public. She does not smile, she just has this permanent scowl on her face. She is starting to talk more, which is crazy to me since the boys took so long to talk. Maya still carries around her little pink blankets which she calls her "baby". She started to claim Jack's baby which worried me, but she doesn't want it anymore, thankfully! Maya's favorite thing to do it put every necklace on that she can find and talk on her toy phone. I wonder if she will be a girly-girl?

Chad has been out of the country since last Monday and comes home on Tuesday. We all miss him. The boys ask for him everyday. The time difference makes it hard for him to talk to them on the phone.

All of the kids are excited for Santa to come. Adam completely understands the concept of Santa and Christmas. Jack understands the presents part and Maya gets the "Ho, Ho, Ho" part. We are so excited to have Nana and Papa come celebrate with us.
