Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommies out there. So far I have had a great mother's day weekend. Yesterday I ran my annual half marathon. Chad and Adam came down to meet me at the finish line. Jack had a fever and Maya...well, would have been a handful down there, so we got a sitter for them. It was a rough run, considering I didn't train for it, but I'm happy I finished. Last night Chad made a yummy dinner and we had apple pie and ice cream for dessert. This morning I woke to pancakes, bacon, hot coffee and a bunch of cards from the kids. This afternoon we are planning on playing outside and enjoying the non-rainy day.

Nana's Visit

Nana came for a visit a couple of weeks ago. We were busy, busy, busy. With school, soccer games and swim lessons, I feel like we were always on the go. The boys had K.I.S.S. ( kids invite someone special) day at school and were to thrilled to bring Nana. We had a great visit and can't wait for her next trip up here.

Grandma's visit

Grandma Moorefield visited us a few weeks ago. As usual we had a great time. Grandma played with the kids and made special wooden crafts for them. I'm not sure if she wore them out or they wore her out. We had fun entertaining the kids and being productive by cleaning and organizing the basement, thanks for your help, Nancy.

Hoppy Easter!

Adam and Jack with the Easter Bunny...Maya wanted NOTHING to do with sitting on his lap

The kids had a great time painting eggs with their friend, Michael

We celebrated at the Passalacqua's house. Tim served us a great brunch and then Jessi and I hid eggs for the kids to find. We had a great day and are so blessed! Happy Easter!

Oh, Maya...

Maya has been quite a handful lately. She's going through this phase where she wants to only wear her night gowns and to wear a pink one on her head as pink hair. She screams, throws tantrums, and refuses to wear what I want or what's weather appropriate. She drives me nuts, but I love her.

Ski Trip

Last weekend we went to Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia with our good friends the Passalacquas. It was so much fun. The drive there was a bit rough. It was suppose to take us 5 and a half hours to get there, instead it took quite a bit longer. The problem was that once we got almost all the way up the mountain we hit a snow storm. Our car was slipping and sliding ever where and we had to turn around and go back down. Tim and Jessi went ahead and checked in, then unloaded their car to come get us. It was so nice to finally arrive safe and get all the kids settled. The next day the weather was cold, foggy and windy. We couldn't even see any of the mountain or even what the ski town looked like. The boys had ski lessons that day and did great. Chad and Tim were able to snowboard while Maya, Sophie, Jessi and I checked out the town and shopped. The next day was gorgeous. It was clear, sunny and in the 50's. The boys had ski lessons again, but those didn't go as well. The ski instructor called us to pick them up early. They were crying and scared that we left them there. Later that day we took the kids swimming in the indoor pool. The kids LOVED that the best. It was so nice to have something else to do other than outdoor stuff. Other than that we lounged around and went out to eat. Overall we had a great trip and can't wait to go back next year.
