Genius

So, my mom, Grandma Jenny, is a GENIUS! She mailed the boys' and Maya's birthday presents yesterday. She sent them boxes FULL of garage sale toys. Small, old, junky toys. Old McDonalds toys, pirate coins, shells, stickers...all sorts of stuff that was probably a nickel. And guess what? They LOVE it! Every last little toy. She gave each one a container with their name on it so they could put their "treasure" in it. I find myself spending money on expensive toys that they rarely play with and it's such a waste. The garage sale finds are perfect! She did splurge and buy them a few toys, clothes and shoes...it's hard to resist...I know! But, how genius to go back to the simple times of little tinker type toys that kids love. Thanks Mom!

Grandma and Grandma Moorefield

Yes, I do know that I titled this Grandma and Grandma. It was funny because Maya called Grandpa Grandma the whole time! Chad's dad and stepmom came to visit us last week. We all had such a great time!

We saw a pirate ship...

We went for bike rides to feed the ducks...(thanks to all my neighbors for letting us borrow bikes and trailers!)

We played on the slip and slide...

The boys had t-ball practice then ice cream afterwards...

We did a whole lot of playing outside and hanging around home. Grandma spent HOURS playing with boys and Maya. At one point the kids were downstairs with Grandma and when I went down to see what was going on Jack told me to go upstairs!

We ended their trip with a surprise birthday cake for Grandma. Then the boys got to open their birthday presents early since Grandma and Grandpa wouldn't be here for their special day.

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the daddies out there. We have had a good day start of the day. The kids woke daddy up to surprise him with a Superman card, candy and a new t-shirt. I took the kids to church and Chad picked them up after service. (I worked in the nursery for the first service so Chad picks them up so I can go to the second service.) When I came home from church Jack was complaining that his tummy hurt and got sick. So far he has thrown up in 4 different buckets! Poor guy. Maya's asleep and Chad's outside playing with Adam. Not sure what the rest of our day looks like, but I'm not expecting anything too exciting.

Harris Family! (30 photo's below...sorry!)

A couple of weeks ago my family and my brother's family all drove to Kalamazoo for my grandma Harris' 90th birthday. My dad also flew in from Kansas City. And, since my mom and her husband live there, it was a great time to get together and celebrate our grandma and our families. Thanks again, to my sister-in-law who took ALL of the pictures. Thanks, Mandy!!!

I'll break down my post by: family photo's, dinners, mom's farm and hotel...
