Home Sweet Home

We just got back from our awesome trip to Kansas.  Surprisingly, the 14 hour drive down and back went really well.  The way there Maya fussed the last hour, arching her back wanting out.  The way home we had a few tears from the boys, but that was it.  I'm hoping we can do the trip again in the fall.

The boys had a great time at Nana and Papa's house.  They did all sorts of outside stuff.  They fished, played with worms and frogs, rode on Nana's Cricket (a golf cart looking ride),  and played in the blow up pool.  They also got to visit Grandma and Grandpa Moorefield, who bravely took them to the zoo!   Maya was wanting to be held a lot (as usual) and sort of afraid of everyone at first.  She quickly warmed up to Nana and demanded most of her attention!  Papa could barely look at Maya without her crying.  Right when we started to leave she finally warmed up.  (She doesn't really like men and usually cries if they look at her.)

Chad and I also had a great time on vacation.  Chad got to fish every day and I got to sleep in every day!  It was Heaven!  We both were spoiled with Lorraine taking care of us.  We were fed, had our laundry done, got a break from the kids, went out to eat, played cards and got to see friends and family.

Now we are back to our normal routine.  Chad's out of town and I'm counting down the minutes until bedtime.  I'll post pictures of our trip in the next couple days.

Pictures now, update later...

My gorgeous nieces.  Erin is almost 4 and Mady is just a few weeks younger than Maya.  I love how Erin has blonde hair and Mady has dark hair.  My brother jokes that he has Tiger Wood's baby!  Even at the hospital they thought there was a mix up!

Here's a picture of Papa John with the kids.  Too bad I had Maya dressed in her brother's hand-me-downs!  Had I known a picture was going to be taken I would have put her in something girly.  Next time...

Maya loves her baths!

KC here we come!

I had a wonderful Mother's Day!  Or I should say, Mother's Weekend.  Chad took care of all the household chores.  He did laundry, washed all the bedding, kept up the dishwasher, vacuumed, etc.  Sunday morning I took the kids to church.  After their naps we went for a bike ride and played outside.

We had a great visit with Papa John.  We use to call my dad Grandpa John but the boys decided to call him Papa John.  It was a short visit but it was nice to spend some time with him.  Now that my dad is retired we expect more visits from him (Congrats on your retirement!)!  I'll post pictures once I get them.  My dad took TONS of pictures, so I'll share some of those when he emails them to me (thanks dad!)

We are bravely taking a 14 hour car trip with the kids this weekend.  We are driving to Wichita on Saturday morning.  I've done this trip with the kids before but that was when Maya was a sleepy infant.  Now that Maya is active and not wanting to sit still and the boys are potty trained it might be a looooong trip.  Wish us luck!

Mission Accomplished!

My friend Jen and I ran our first half marathon (13.1 miles) today.  It was tough, but we did it!  Not sure how we placed, but I'm pretty proud to be one of 7,000 to have participated (and without walking!)

Somehow this picture was taken with a smile on our faces.  I don't know about Jen, but I'm pretty sure at that point I wanted to die.

Chad brought the boys down to the race so they could cheer me on.  At this point we all just wanted to go home.  (Thanks Jessi for watching Maya!)

We love spring!

The kids have been really fun lately.  Maybe I'm enjoying them a little more now that we can go outside and play.  The sandbox and swings have been the boys' choice of entertainment lately. It's so nice to be outside while the boys play and Maya sits with me on the patio.

Maya is a ball of energy.  She loves to roll around and explore every room she's in.  Her new thing it to clap when she gets really excited.  Oh, and she finely broke through her first top tooth.  She hasn't tried to crawl yet, but she reaches and rolls to get from point A to point B.

The boys have been fighting a bit more lately.  It's usually about a toy or binki or baby.   Today they were fighting about which song we sang in the car.  Jack's favorite it "Row, Row, Row your boat" and Adam's is "Itsy Bitsy Spider".  It's funny (sometimes annoying) to see what a almost 3 year old will get upset about.

Better go for now, I have about an hour left until the little dumplings all wake from naps.

Boys playing "Beauty Salon" with Kinsey

The boys have played at Kinsey's house a thousand times and for some reason today they discovered her "beauty salon".

Picture Overload of a GREAT Weekend!

My mom and her husband drove from Michigan to visit us for Easter and Birthday celebration. We has a great weekend!  The Easter Bunny came, the boys hunted for eggs, Chad smoked a chicken for dinner, we ate lots of cake and had lots of wine, we enjoyed the sun, we laughed, the boys were bursting with energy and Maya was making sure she got her equal amount of attention!  Today is my birthday and I'm so happy!  I love so many things about my life, as always, especially my kids that are my life and my husband that is my heart.  Enjoy the pictures below, there's a ton of them!

Adam wishing everyone a Happy Easter!

Maya has discovered the swing and she LOVES it!

Adam and Maya on the swings with Jack in the fort.  Doesn't Adam look big on the swing?

Even Lola and Baxter enjoyed the great weather!

Adam looking at the camera is a rare occasion.  He usually just says cheese without looking at the camera.

Jack looking handsome as ever with his new buzz cut daddy gave him.

The boys couldn't get enough of Grandpa Scott!

Miss Maya with Grandma Jenny.

The kids opening their baskets from the Easter Bunny.

The kids with Grandma making me a "birthday cake".

Playing with their fun bubble guns the Easter Bunny gave them.
