Annual camping trip

We took our annual family camping trip.  The kids LOVED it!  This time we had 2 cabins, so Chad and the boys were in one and Maya and I were in the other.  We did all the usual camping stuff...fishing, swimming, s'mores, glow sticks, collecting rocks, walks, fires and more!  We even had a raccoon take our food from our cooler!  Rookie mistake leaving the cooler outside at night...

Week 2 of summer vacation

Our summer vacation has been off to a great start.  The kids spend most of the their day in their swimsuits or pj's.  They go from playing in the garage, to the sandbox, then the swing-set and mostly jump on the trampoline.  We even put the sprinkler under the trampoline for a little more excitement!  

The last picture I posted was the kids being silly.  The boys were wearing Maya's pj's and Maya has theirs on.  They are so easily entertained!

What we've been up to ...

We have been busy that last week or so.  Last weekend the kids walked in the New Albany Founder's Day parade.  They were representing their martial arts school, Koguryo.  They had a lot of fun walking and passing out fliers.  

The boys had their first official t-ball game.  They both seem to really like it.  Adam's a lefty, so he feels pretty special.  Chad is one of the coaches on the team and the boys think that's cool!

Also last weekend Maya had her ballet and Tap recital.  It was...um...ok.  Maya is not into ballet or tap, so this whole season was sort of a waste.  She was bored and never wanted to go.  I thought maybe once the recital came around she would be excited again, but she really wasn't.   Chad and I had a sitter watch the boys so we could go to her recital.  Maya cried because she wanted to stay with the babysitter.  I'm glad it's all over...but she did look cute!

My dad visited us this week.  He drove from Kansas City to Kalamazoo to see my grandma, then drove here.  He stayed for 2 nights then headed to my brother's in Kentucky.  We had a really good visit and can't wait to see him again for our annual Thanksgiving get together.

Grandma Nancy and I walked the Cap City Half Marathon last weekend.  It was a great experience to share with her.  This was my 4th annual Cap City Half and I was more than thrilled to walk this one instead of run!

 Grandma Nancy was here for the past 10 days.  Since Chad was in London, I asked if she'd be able to come and help out.  We had a ton of fun and Grandma was able to see the kids graduate from preschool.

 A taste of pre-summer fun!  My kids are still entertained with their water table and baby pools.  Time to stock up on popsicles.

 I decided this Mother's Day that I would forget all house chores and just play with the kids.  Since my kids are obsessed with camping we "camped".

They made a fire out of magnetic tiles, orange car ramps and Christmas lights.  We cooked marshmallows using straws and a cotton ball.  The kids had a great time decorating the tent.  It was fun to just play and not worry about the house, of course, tomorrow I had a lot of catching up to do!
