Ski Trip

Last weekend we went to Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia with our good friends the Passalacquas. It was so much fun. The drive there was a bit rough. It was suppose to take us 5 and a half hours to get there, instead it took quite a bit longer. The problem was that once we got almost all the way up the mountain we hit a snow storm. Our car was slipping and sliding ever where and we had to turn around and go back down. Tim and Jessi went ahead and checked in, then unloaded their car to come get us. It was so nice to finally arrive safe and get all the kids settled. The next day the weather was cold, foggy and windy. We couldn't even see any of the mountain or even what the ski town looked like. The boys had ski lessons that day and did great. Chad and Tim were able to snowboard while Maya, Sophie, Jessi and I checked out the town and shopped. The next day was gorgeous. It was clear, sunny and in the 50's. The boys had ski lessons again, but those didn't go as well. The ski instructor called us to pick them up early. They were crying and scared that we left them there. Later that day we took the kids swimming in the indoor pool. The kids LOVED that the best. It was so nice to have something else to do other than outdoor stuff. Other than that we lounged around and went out to eat. Overall we had a great trip and can't wait to go back next year.

Swim lessons

Adam and Jack started swim lesson a couple of Saturdays ago. So far they seem to really like it. These lessons are only for 30 minutes on Saturdays for 5 weeks. I'm hoping when this is over to get them private lessons. I just really want them to learn to swim. We always go to the baby pool at the YMCA so this summer I think it would be fun to let them play in the big pool. We'll see...I get nervous watching all 3 at the same time.

Next up....spring soccer. I'd like to get Maya in something too since today was her last indoor soccer class. Maybe ballet? Karate? Gymnastics?

Goal, Baby

Maya has been doing indoor soccer for several weeks and loves it. She calls it "soccer ball" and always asks to play. I'm not sure if she likes the soccer or just running around with her best pals, Maddie and Lena.

Twins anyone?

My cousin, Melanie, sent me this picture. She said this picture was a premonition of my future and I think she's right. Who knew, back in 1985 when I was pretending to have twin cabbage patch kids, that I really would someday.

So Sweet

This is a bad picture as far as clarity, but how cute is it??? I caught Adam helping Maya put on her shoes. It literally melted my heart.

3, 2, 1....blast off

Here's a picture of the kids using their car seats as a rocket ship...all the while I was vacuuming up cereal, cracker, popcorn, pretzel, and donut crumbs out of the car.

Skiing

Chad and I went skiing today. It was so much fun! I haven't been since high school, so I was excited but really nervous. The first run I flew down the hill and wiped out. After that, it was like riding a bike...well, maybe not that easy. Anyways, we have a family ski trip planned in March and I wanted to make sure I was ready. We are going to Snowshoe Mountain in West Virginia. It will be our first ski trip as a family and our good friends, the Passalacqua's, are coming with us. I'm so excited to see how the boys do in ski school!

Potty words, Cupid, and Daddy...

The boys and Maya are OBSESSED with potty talk. Words like poop, pee, wee-wee, diaper, toilet...and (unfortunately) other words like stupid, butt and hate. It's so frustrating. I'm sorta at a stand point. I feel like time-out isn't a hard enough punishment because they (Jack) will go in time-out a billion times a day. I've tried soap, which sorta works, but makes me feel bad doing. So I have decided to let the kids say potty words only in the basement. If one of them starts saying something bad I ask them to go to the basement to get the words out. They don't like going by themselves...so this process has been working...today, anyways. Sometimes it's hard having boys the same age. They both feed off each other and think the same thing is funny.

The boys have discovered Cupid. They are so creative in a naughty way! They love Cupid because he wears a diaper...ha ha ha.... and Cupid rhymes with stupid! So now they say cupid and just laugh.

Chad has been out of town since Wednesday and thankfully he comes home tomorrow. I think the kids are ready to have daddy back...and have a little less of mommy! Here's a picture of Chad he sent to us today from snowboarding in Colorado with his friends.
