Sunny Days...

It snowed today.  But, we did have some great weather last week.  It was sunny and almost 70 last Thursday.  I bought the boys a water table for Easter and decided to give it to them a little early.  They loved it!  Of course, it took them about 5 minutes of being outside in the warm weather to take their clothes off.  I also bought a sun tent for Maya to sit in.   Now we are all wishing for that great weather again.  Soon...

1 down, 1 to go!

Okay, I don't want to jinx myself, but I'd say Adam is potty trained.  When we first started training, Chad and I would joke that Maya will be trained before him.  And now, here he is trained before Jack.  Go figure.

Adam wears underwear during the day and pull-ups if we leave the house.  He will either tell me he has to go "potty pee-pee" or he will go in the bathroom like a big boy and do his deed without any help.  During his naps he stays dry and last night was the first time he stayed dry all night.  I couldn't be prouder.  I'm so thankful I am half way there!

Jack is also well on his way to being trained.  At home, for the most part, he will ask to use the potty.  I usually try to make him go before he has an accident.  Since he loves to be naked, it makes it easier for him to go as he needs.  Today he went poo all by himself and even flushed before I had a chance to "inspect" things.  Jack loves his privacy when it comes to going "number two".  I knew he went because he was touching the floor when I walked in.  (that's how we get a good wipe).

Now that they wear underwear, they seem too big for diapers.  I'm so excited that those diaper days are almost over (except for my little girl).  Oh, I forgot to mention how funny it is now when I go potty.  Every time they see me on the toilet, they say "Yea Mommy!"  and clap.  Oh, and fight over who gets to help flush.  Too cute.

Thanks for all the help and advice, Grandma Nancy and Jennifer (little-tyke.blogspot.com)

Potty Train...chugga chugga poo poo!

Man, potty training is HARD!  Rushing boys to the potty, changing pull-ups, cleaning accidents off the floor, changing underwear, asking do you have to "pee"?, rushing to the potty, changing pull-ups, cleaning accidents off the floor, asking do you have to "pee"?, rushing boys to the potty...you get the idea.  Every day is almost like the first day we started.  Then we'll have a really good day, where the boys will go in the toilet and tell me they have to go, other times they will go wherever.  It's especially hard because the boys have a very different learning style.  For example, Jack wants to be naked all day and will pee on command.  Adam wants to be fully clothed and will sit on the toilet for 30 minutes and not go at all.  Jack drinks lots of fluids and pee ALL the time.  Adam will only go 2-3 times a day.  One thing we have down is the flushing.  They LOVE to flush.  Oh, and we always say "bye-bye" to the pee-pee or poopy.  Adam will add in a "see you later!"  So cute!

Not sure why I took this picture, but this what our car looks like.

So handsome.  The boys were all dressed for church.

Why does everything turn in to a wrestling match???

Best Buds.  This pic is from our last trip to the zoo.

This is how we travel to the zoo.  It's a bit of a freak show, but hey, I'm no Octo-Mom!

18 months, seriously!??

Looking back at baby books and photos, apparently I was potty training at a year and a half.  That just seems crazy to me since Adam and Jack are over year older than that and we aren't even close to being potty trained?  Of course, I noticed I was wearing cloth diapers (diaper cover on the counter) so I see where the urgency was.

Then and Now

The top two pictures are me in a dress I had when I was little.  Below is a picture of Maya in the same dress. (I posted this pic of Maya before, but just figured out how to use my scanner to post my picture.)

Another Day...

Boys, it's been a while.  As I'm attempting to post something interesting, I'm enjoying the silence of the house, as the kids sleep.  Really, I should be cleaning the kitchen/bedroom/playroom, starting laundry, shower, eat lunch, and watch my soap (Days of our Lives.)  Oh, and there's cat puke on the front step outside that needs to be cleaned off, dog poop in the yard to pick up, and a dirty fish tank to be cleaned (I can't believe he hasn't died yet!)

The boys have been soooo active lately.  I guess instead of saying that every post, it should just be a given.  They do this new thing where if they are downstairs and I go downstairs, then they go upstairs.  If I go up, they go down.  Now, I just let them do whatever and peek/spy on them every few minutes.  They seem to play better with me not around to supervise/referee.  Adam is less likely to whine and tell on Jack.  And Jack is less likely to do something that is especially naughty (or so I think?)

We are getting ready to potty train again.  They are both showing signs of being ready.  They both request diaper changes and don't run when I go to change it.  They also both hide when they poo.  Jack has always done that, but Adam now will hide under the dining room table.  I'm thinking in a month or so we will try again.

Maya has been eating like a champ.  She now eats 3 meals of food a day.  She is still on a great sleeping schedule.  Though she does get up once in the night, I'm not ready to stop that.  For some crazy reason, I actually enjoy getting up and feeding her.  It's such a special time and I know it won't last for long.  Besides, get goes to bed at 6:30, I don't blame her for wanting to eat 9 hours later.

We are all anxious for spring to arrive.  Yesterday was a taste of spring at 50 plus degrees.  We enjoyed the afternoon at the zoo.  (Will post pictures when I remember to get my camera out of my car.)  Preschool has been going great.  I am "Room Mom" this Friday.  I bring snack and get to help with crafts, snacks, poopy pants and "fighting".

Well, better get back to my "chores".

My active boys!

The boys have so much energy these days.  They are still fighting a wicked cough they've had for about a week now.  Even Maya has the cough.  Being cooped up inside without any playdates this week has been hard.  It's nice that the boys play with each other though.  Right now they are jumping from one bed to another.  They love to chase each other (but if Jack isn't first he cries), wrestle (usually Adam cries), race each other and lots of other active  boy games.

I'm 6 months!!!

Wow, I can hardly  believe that I'm 6 months old today!  Life at my house is crazy, loud and very entertaining.  I love watching my brothers.  They are always playing with each other and sometimes they even play with me.  I don't need a lot their attention, but I love when they look at me.  That's all I need to give them a belly laugh.

My days are spent with mommy shuffling me around from one room to another.  Sometimes I play in my jumperoo, sometimes sit on the floor or in a bouncy seat, but my favorite is to sit on mommy's hip.  I can usually fuss a little and she's pick me up and carry me around while she does her "chores."

I still love my baths and prefer to bathe without my brothers in the tub.  They usually splash, spit and pee in the water.  It's not as fun with them.  I really love to be in just a diaper.  My brothers are always running around in just diapers, I don't know why I can't?!  I  love when mommy tickles me and daddy "tries" to scare me.   I also like my car seat and stroller rides because I can usually get in a good nap.

I'm a really good sleeper.  Well, at least for night time.  Mommy decided that I didn't need to be swaddled anymore, so she told me to "tough it out" and let me cry.  Boy, did I cry!  But now, a couple days later, I just lay in my crib and talk myself to sleep.  Mommy's way more fun than taking naps,  so sometime I cry just to see if she'll come running.  Guess what?  Sometimes she does.  So it's worth all the effort of crying!  The same time I cried for not being swaddled, my brothers cried for their binkys.  Mommy said if I was going to cry, she might as well take their binkys away and let them cry too.  It was a rough couple days!

I can sit up.  Okay, well, I can sit for like 5 seconds.  Mommy says "any day now" I'll be sitting and playing more.  My two bottom teeth have come through.  That didn't hurt too much, but since they came in, I haven't had much of an appetite.  I see my doctor tomorrow so I'll have mommy post an update on my six month stats.  Wow, before you know it, I'll be turning one!

LOTS OF POSTS BELOW. I FINALLY FIGURED OUT MY CAMERA.

Boys being NAUGHTY!!!

I'm not sure what they were mad at me about, but they sure were trying to get back at me.

BUSTED!

Somehow, I'm pretty sure this was Jack's idea

"Take a picture, it lasts longer".  Ugh, little punks!

Random Pictures

The boys love to be pulled in the sled.

Daddy's getting quite a workout.

Apparently, Adam loves to eat snow.  No matter the color...

Adam and Kinsey lovin' the snow!

First day of Preschool

Meeting our new teacher, Mrs. Wills.

The boys warmed right up to her.

The both seemed to like school, though they didn't venture far from each other.

Snack time was probably all the kids favorite.  This picture isn't very cute, but you get the idea...

Jack started crying when  I left the room to check on Maya in the nursery.  Adam was to busy eating Jack's pretzels to notice me gone.
