My active boys!
The boys have so much energy these days. They are still fighting a wicked cough they've had for about a week now. Even Maya has the cough. Being cooped up inside without any playdates this week has been hard. It's nice that the boys play with each other though. Right now they are jumping from one bed to another. They love to chase each other (but if Jack isn't first he cries), wrestle (usually Adam cries), race each other and lots of other active boy games.

I'm 6 months!!!
Wow, I can hardly believe that I'm 6 months old today! Life at my house is crazy, loud and very entertaining. I love watching my brothers. They are always playing with each other and sometimes they even play with me. I don't need a lot their attention, but I love when they look at me. That's all I need to give them a belly laugh.
My days are spent with mommy shuffling me around from one room to another. Sometimes I play in my jumperoo, sometimes sit on the floor or in a bouncy seat, but my favorite is to sit on mommy's hip. I can usually fuss a little and she's pick me up and carry me around while she does her "chores."
I still love my baths and prefer to bathe without my brothers in the tub. They usually splash, spit and pee in the water. It's not as fun with them. I really love to be in just a diaper. My brothers are always running around in just diapers, I don't know why I can't?! I love when mommy tickles me and daddy "tries" to scare me. I also like my car seat and stroller rides because I can usually get in a good nap.
I'm a really good sleeper. Well, at least for night time. Mommy decided that I didn't need to be swaddled anymore, so she told me to "tough it out" and let me cry. Boy, did I cry! But now, a couple days later, I just lay in my crib and talk myself to sleep. Mommy's way more fun than taking naps, so sometime I cry just to see if she'll come running. Guess what? Sometimes she does. So it's worth all the effort of crying! The same time I cried for not being swaddled, my brothers cried for their binkys. Mommy said if I was going to cry, she might as well take their binkys away and let them cry too. It was a rough couple days!
I can sit up. Okay, well, I can sit for like 5 seconds. Mommy says "any day now" I'll be sitting and playing more. My two bottom teeth have come through. That didn't hurt too much, but since they came in, I haven't had much of an appetite. I see my doctor tomorrow so I'll have mommy post an update on my six month stats. Wow, before you know it, I'll be turning one!

Boys being NAUGHTY!!!
Random Pictures
First day of Preschool
Meeting our new teacher, Mrs. Wills.
The boys warmed right up to her.
The both seemed to like school, though they didn't venture far from each other.
Snack time was probably all the kids favorite. This picture isn't very cute, but you get the idea...
Jack started crying when I left the room to check on Maya in the nursery. Adam was to busy eating Jack's pretzels to notice me gone.
More Random Pictures
So SWEET!
My heart just melted! I just tucked the boys in bed and when I gave Adam a kiss he said, "Love you, Mommy". So at least one of the three loves me! I asked Jack if he loved me but all he could do is keep singing "Froty da doman" (a.k.a. Frosty the Snowman) at the top of his lungs.
Big stuff!
Maya's bottom tooth came through last night! What a big girl!!
p.s. pictures to come...once I figure out how to use our new Mac and new camera...

Quicky...
The boys just started going to preschool this past week. I love the program. It's for 2 1/2 year olds getting ready for preschool. For the first 5 weeks I get to stay in the classroom with them. After that, the parents are suppose to leave 15 minutes early to help them get used to the parents being gone. Both boys seemed to really enjoy class. I drop Maya off in the church nursery. The first day we left her Jack was all concerned that we were leaving her. Huh, guess he does like her...
Um...Maya is still the cutest little thing I've ever seen. Her two bottom teeth are trying to come through. They don't seem to bother her, which is good.
Funny story:
As you know, being a mommy you don't have a lot of privacy. Well, I was in the bathroom the other day, going #2, and Adam was in the room with me. I passed gas and Adam said "Mommy's butt sneezed!" That has to be the funniest thing I've ever heard!

Coming soon...
I promise I have not forgotten all of my devoted blog seekers. We were without a computer for a few days and now that we are up and running again I'll post something soon (pictures, too). But, since I went running at 6:00 am, got home and showered, fed and dressed all kids, took Adam and Jack to preschool (I stayed in the class with them) and dropped Maya off at the church nursery, came home and fed the kids again, then put them all down for a nap, I need a nap, TOO! Until then...

30 years later...
This is a dress that I wore when I was a baby. I have a picture of me in it when I was 8 months. It's not a sentimental dress, just one I use to put on my dolls as a little girl. My mom keeps mailing me boxes of my old toys and keepsakes. I recently found the dress and thought it would be cute to put Maya in it. I'll try to post the picture of me in it.

Recent pics...
This picture was taken yesterday. Chad and I had a babysitter come over so we could go out. I figured since I was showered and actually put on makeup, that I had better get a memory of it! We had dinner with Tim and Jessi. Our exciting night out ended with me having a stomach ache and coming home by 9:30. Oh well, maybe next date we can make it out later than 10:00.

Happy 2009!
2008 was a great year for our family. Most importantly, baby Maya arrived healthy and happy. She continues to grow and make her mark on this family. Maya is the sweetest baby and melts my heart every time I look in her blue eyes. Though the boys do not pay much attention to her, she on the other hand is totally aware of what they are doing. I'm excited for this year as she developes and plays and shows us her personality.
The boys hit many milestones this past year and we are looking forward to many more. 2009 will be the start of potty training (didn't I say that last year?), riding a bike with training wheels, and pre-school! They have grown so much and continue to amaze me. The more they talk and share their feelings, the more I am reassured that they are happy. The "terrible two's" have been really hard and I'm hoping they will outgrow them soon. I just can't believe they will be three this year!
Chad and I are happy and have many plans for 2009. We are going to start a family vacation tradition in the summer to Lake Erie, we plan to road trip it to KC, and we plan to add another addition to our family (joke, it's a JOKE!). Seriously, we are blessed with everything we have and hope to continue the happiness we share.
Happy New Year!

Look who's a big girl!!
Maya got the go ahead from the doctor to start eating rice cereal. At first she wasn't too sure about it, but now she's a pro! Next month we will try veggies! Oh, boy!
She weighs 12 lbs 14 oz. She's in the 25th percentile for weight and 70th for height. Oh, and 30th for her head. Still has a small head! (a trait the Harris' do not have!)

What's new?
It's been awhile since I have actually posted an update on the kids. It's so much easier to post a pic or two, but I know, you all deserve more.
Adam's world - Adam has discovered the power of the word "please." For weeks and weeks I would coax and wish for the boys to say "the magic word." Now, Adam says it all the time, expecting to get what it is that he wants. "Cookie please", "Carry please", "Binky PLEASE!"
Adam has also started to talk more. He's putting words together and making sentences. Finally. I was getting worried that they weren't going to talk, English, that is. Adam still refers to himself as "Jack", but will respond to the name "Adam". Huh? Even Maya is "baby Jack" sometimes. At least I'm back to "mommy". For awhile I was "mom", which is not nearly as cute at "mommy." The problem is that he says my name, oh, like 100 times a day. We need to work on saying "daddy" more!
Adam is also my little helper. He will put things in the trash for me. He likes to shut the dishwasher, push the wet clothes in the dryer and push the start button. I've been working on making them bring their plates to the sink when they are done eating. This usually involves me rewarding them with a sticker (or bribing them with a Dora episode).
Jack's world - Jack is still my wild child. We've all been a little under the weather lately and the cabin fever is getting to him the most. He likes to leave the room and do naughty things. When he comes back and gives me that look, I'm like "oh crap, what did you do!" (note to self: quick saying "crap" before the kids start). Yesterday, it was dumping coffee on the bathroom floor and splashing in it. Today, it was running off with the remote control batteries. He loves the chase!
Jack is really in to his animals, still. He loves to watch this Dora episode that has animals in it. He will yell which animal they are talking about and I swear he said the number five in Spanish. Dora is their new favorite character. Actually the like "Boots" Dora's monkey friend. I'm thinking that's why Jack likes to wear his boots still.
Jack is talking more, too. His primary language is still Chinese, but he is learning his secondary language of English slowly. His favorite phrases are still "Oh, man" (another Dora connection), "Come on!" and "What you doing?" Also, his frequency with the word "please" is not quite as much as Adam, but he's working on it.
Maya's world - Maya is the perfect baby. She's really in to laughing at her brothers lately. If I hold her like Superman and act like she's going to fly towards one of the boys (especially Adam), she will belly laugh. It's so cute. She still smiles ALL the time. It's hard to be frusterated at 3:00am when she's smiling at me like I'm the most special person in the world.
I borrowed a new jumper toy from a friend. She sits in it and her feet dangle and touch the floor. She can jump like a wild woman and she loves it! Mostly Maya likes to be held and talked to. She also has discovered that she'd rather hang out with us than go to bed, so we've have some "crying it out" days.
Her 4 month doctor's appointment is on Tuesday, so I will update the stats then. I'm thinking she's about 12 pounds? We'll see.
