Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day!  Okay, so this post is about a week behind...oh well.  For father's day we surprised Chad with a camping trip.  The kids were SUPER excited!  Saturday, after the boys baseball game, we headed to Indian Lake.  It was clear and sunny in New Albany but as we drove an hour towards the lake it started to get cloudy and rain.

We got to our campsite, popped the tent, and started a fire.  The kids swam in the lake, we roasted hotdogs and made smores.  After about 5 hours of playing, making friends and enjoying time outside, we headed back home.  It started to rain more and it was suppose to rain all night and the next day.  Even tho we didn't stay the night we all had a great time.

On Father's Day we went out for lunch.  Maya spoiled daddy with a back rub and she combed his hair!  Later, our friends came over for dinner.

( I'm never in pictures so Adam and I took one together)

In other news....Jack earned the game ball!   A few games back he really ran hard and hit really well, so the coached gave him the ball.  Yay!  He was pretty pumped!

Week 1

Wow, we made it thru our first week of summer vacation.  I wasn't sure we'd make it.  The kids did a TON of bugging each other and whining.  I'm trying to get them in some sort of schedule.  I feel like once we get in a groove things will be a lot better.

My plan is to do homework and clean in the morning.  Then we can have fun in the afternoon.  The kids have been really good at helping me clean.  Jack even cleaned the bathroom floor and toilet today. Adam is good at picking up and Maya is good at sorting laundry.  I'm hoping that they realized if we keep up with our chores we will have more fun for the day.

I took Maya to Sweet and Sassy this weekend for her reward since she is now a bike rider!  She got her hair braided with a fancy bow and LOTS of glitter hairspray.  She then had a full pedicure.  Her friend Sophie met us there and had her hair and nails done, too.

Maya is now on the Mini Star team at gymnastics.  Her instructor asked her to be on the team several months ago, but with school schedules the time didn't work for us.  She's going to be in the class for the summer then we will see if she can do it when school starts.  It's an hour long vs. her other class that was 45 mins.  She will also now be working on more tumbling stuff and using the bars and beams.  So far she loves it.

Our Reality

So, I've noticed that my blog is always about how great life is and how wonderful my kids are.  Well, that's true BUT my kids are far from perfect and our life is messy!  My kids fight, name call, cry, whine, hit, lie, say potty words, are ungrateful, cheat, eat junk food, watch t.v., ....I could go on.  Most people that read my blog are family and they know that our life is CRAZY!  I love the chaos and LOVE my life...but I just want to remind my self and everyone else WE ARE NOT PERFECT!...nor do we try to be.

With that being said, here are some awesome pictures of my family!

Again, the LAST day of school.
Our bus stop was all about throwing water balloons at the bus and attacking each other with water guns!

(Of course, on the last day of school, when the bus drove off I bawled my eyes out!)

Bus stop buddies!

Now that school is over, it's like Moorefield Bootcamp!  I'm so over cleaning after these kids!  I've decided (finally) that the kids need to help out around the house.  So last weekend they vacuumed furniture, cleaned the floors, cleaned windows and did dished.  And to my surprise, they did a GREAT job.  I just needed to show them what to do...

The boys baseball team is doing really well!  Adam won the "game ball" last week.  He hit really well, got someone out on first and hit a double.  He was so excited.  Surprisingly, Jack did not throw a fit or show any jealously!

Lola is obsessed with the chipmunks that live in the holes on the curb.  She will sit there all day just watching them.  She knows better than to try to get them.  Poor old girl...

Maya finally learned to ride her bike without training wheels.  I know she's only four, but she HAD to learn.  I ran over her bike and crushed her training wheels and I did not want to buy her new ones knowing she was capable of riding without.

Of course,  I bribed her with taking her to get a pedicure and getting her hair done.  Looks like we are going to Sweet and Sassy this weekend!

Boys...

Well, I was going to sign the boys up for swim lessons this year, but since they take them every year and don't seem to learn how to swim, I decided to sign them up for tennis.

They LOVE it.  Jack's kindergarten teacher mentioned that Jack might like tennis and boy does he!

It took them to bit to realize that they didn't need to hit the ball as hard as they can like in baseball.  The first couple of swings they hit the ball REALLY far!

First time at the pool!  It was COLD!  The kids had fun once they either made friends or saw friends that they knew.
