Pumpkins and puke...

Our week has been filled with Halloween activities. The boys had their Halloween celebration at school on Thursday. They got to wear their costumes to school and walk in a school parade. Jack is a leopard and Adam is a pirate. Jack was so excited with his costume even though his outfit is actual girls clothes from Kohls. I figured he's too young to know the difference as long as we don't tell him :) Adam wanted to be Jack Sparrow. He loved his costume too, but didn't want anything to do with the hat and long hair wig that came with it.

Now for the puking of our week. Thursday morning Maya woke up saying her tummy hurt. 10 minutes later she was sick....and more sick, and more sick... It was awful! She feel asleep on my bedroom floor at 8am and slept for 30 minutes. When she woke, she was completely better. It was so strange how it hit her hard but only lasted 3 hours. Sadly, she missed her Halloween party as school.

We thought we were in the clear until Jack woke up Friday night and go sick. Literally 10 minutes after Jack puked, Adam puked. They both stayed up until 4am getting sick. Neither could even keep water down. Finally, they are somewhat better. Adam's tummy hurts and Jack got sick this morning, so they will stay home from school tomorrow. I feel fine...Chad on the other hand is now sick.

All I can say is that I am so glad we are getting new carpet next week! It was quite an ordeal to get it all ordered, but we did. We went in last weekend and picked out carpet that was originally 4.51 per sq ft but marked on sale for 1.69. We were so excited to be getting such a good carpet for so cheap. Well, come to find out it was miss marked. When I went back on Saturday to order it, the manager said they wouldn't honor that price. I emailed customer service to say how disappointed I was, and they email back saying they would honor that sale price. Yay!

We also sold all of our furniture on craigslist and have our new large sectional couch coming next week. I'm so excited for the kids to be able to watch tv downstairs without bugging and touching each other. If they are near each other they can't seem to keep their hands off each other. Drives me nuts sometimes!

I have a cute story to share. On Thursday, Adam was a bit grumpy after school. I asked him what was wrong and he said that someone took a toy from him and knocked down a tower he was building. As I was talking to him about his feelings, Jack chimes in saying, "I'm going to wrestle that kid and knock him down". Of course I talked to Jack about how that is not the answer, but I was secretly proud of him for wanting to stick up for Adam.

Sunday update

Can you believe it? I actually said I'd post something on Sunday and I am...shocker!

We had a really good week. All 3 kiddos had swim lessons on Monday. Maya takes hers while the boys are in school. This week, when class started, she was acting shy and telling the teacher she "didn't want to do it." The teacher reminded her that she needed to try. After that she was like a fish. She went under the water 5 times! This is big for her.

Another big thing for Maya this week is her hair. She let me french braid it twice. For some reason she doesn't like her hair messed with. She'd rather look like a caveman! Her hair is so cute when it's combed and done. It only took a bribe of 2 kit-kats and a chocolate chip cookie to get it done!

The boys have been playing better this week. Last week they seemed to be fighting a lot. We've spent the majority of our time this week in the basement. I am trying to get it back to a functional playroom since it flooded a few months ago. I'm sorta happy it flooded b/c it forced me to clean out stuff and get rid of stuff. Today I took 2 car loads of "junk" to goodwill.

Adam has a birthday party this week. This will be the first time that both boys have not been invited. It's kind of sad, but good for them. I really want them to feel like individuals. Adam is super excited about it....and a bit braggy about it, too.

The boys had K.I.S.S. night last week. Kids Invite Someone Special. I went to Jack's class and Chad went to Adam's. Basically we spent an hour in their classroom so they could show us what they do. Chad said Adam was really quiet and watched his classmates. Jack on the other hand was totally different. Jack is "that kid"...you know the loud, outgoing, outspoken....disruptive one. He seems to really like school....once he's there.

In other news....Jack has a loose tooth. His bottom tooth is wiggly, but not ready to come out yet. They seem to young to start loosing teeth. Sorta sad...

Last week, I painted our bathroom, sold our couch and loveseat on craigslist, I ordered the kids annual pictures (yes, grandmas, grandpas and nanas out there...they are coming soon), have the basement almost all cleaned out, ran a half marathon (well, last weekend...), donated lots of stuff, and I washed and vacuumed out my car. So productive!

My camera is on it's last leg, so I may not post anything new for awhile...actually I'll just post some old pictures to keep you entertained...

Hello?

What's new with the Moorefields? Well, a lot and really nothing at the same time. We've been busy with school. It's a bit challenging to keep up with all the different activities each child has. Last week was picture day and pajama day...no, not on the same day. Let's see...I forgot to send eggs to Jack class for "kids cooking day"...oops. Last Tuesday the traffic was so bad it literally took me 2 hours to get the kids to school...finally arriving at 10:30am. Jack didn't want to go, so I let him sit with me while we waited for the other 2 to finish the rest of their morning. After the teachers pulled me aside the next day, I learned that was a bad choice. So, besides my craziness, the kids are all doing rather well. Adam and Maya having been playing really well together lately. Maya even announced that they are "best friends". Jack has been fighting with Maya a lot lately. I have found that Maya blames EVERYTHING on Jack. Even if he isn't in the same room or anywhere near her...she will blame something on him. Poor guy...but, if he is in the room...he's usually guilty!

So, I know I have been a slacker...again. I thought maybe I could give a recap of our week on Sundays. If I have something "exciting" or pictures to share, I will try to post more. So, for the time being, I will post on Sundays with a summary of our week.
