Great Wolf Lodge

We went to Great Wolf Lodge last weekend for some final summer fun!
Needless to say, it was a BLAST.
We left Saturday morning and came home Sunday afternoon.
It was the perfect amount of time for us.

Once we got there we went directly to the water park,
which is inside the hotel.
The boys loved going down all of the slides.
Maya liked the slides, but mostly she just splashed around.
Adam loved the smaller slides and probably went down 100 times!
Jack, naturally, was fearless.
Chad took him on a huge slide where they lifted out of the water
into the air.
Jack loved it.

We spent the day at the water park, then we back to our room to get ready for dinner.
After dinner, we explored the hotels shops and gorged on cotton candy...not the smartest parental decision...
At 8:00, the hotel has "story time" down at the tower clock.
The kids are encouraged to wear their pj's.

Once we got back to our room, we (Chad and I) thought it was time for bed.
Um, wrong.
The kids were so pumped up on sugar, it was crazy!
Our original plan was to have the boys in the bunk bed,
Maya in the single bed,
and Chad and I in the queen bed.
What really happened was...
Chad and Jack in the bunk bed,
Adam in the single and
Maya and I in the queen.
Maya had the hardest time going down.
She kept singing "Dora, Dora, Dora" and
"I'm a be" by Black Eyed Peas.

The next day we went to the arcade before we hit the park again.
We stayed for another couple of hours, then headed home.

We had a great time.
I'm thinking we need to do this every year right before school starts.

Big Boys!

I decided to give the boys a "bigger" boys room.
(Yes, I'm one of those parents who let their kids jump on the bed.)
It was a bit of a challenge because Jack likes dinosaurs and Adam likes pirates.
I did my best to make both boys happy.
Although, Adam wanted to paint the room black and have black bedding.
We compromised with a black mirror and dry erase board.

We even got 3 new fish.
Well, 2 new fish. Dora didn't make it.
Adam named his Darth Vader and Jack named his Mario Brothers.
None of the kids have even noticed that one is missing, so I'll just leave the 2 until they notice and start asking questions.
I can't answer any more questions about dying and death.
(Even Nana got quizzed on why her mommy died).

The boys had their 4 year wellness check at the doctors today.
That also meant that they each got 4 shots.
It was traumatic.
Jack went first and screamed and cried.
Adam was watching the whole thing screaming "I don't want one".
Then, when it was Adam's turn, Jack was screaming "don't do it"!

Both boys cried until we got to the car.
Then I got them shakes from McDonalds and all was better.

Jack's 35 lbs in the 50% for weight and height.
Adam's 30 lbs in the 10% and 10% height.
