I'm 8 weeks old!

Boy, time flies when you sleep all (most) of the time! I can't believe I'm 8 weeks old. Mommy keeps telling to stop growing so fast, but I can't help it when I make her feed me every 2 hours. She keeps telling me that I can't possibly be hungry again, but I am! I like to snack during the day instead of filling up on full bottles. I've heard six small meals a day help you keep a girlie figure.

My days are filled with me and my brothers doing fun activities together. I mostly sit back and watch, well actually, I sleep during this time. I can't seem to stay awake for more than 2 hours. Mommy's good at propping my bottle up while I'm in the car, or stroller, or even the bouncy seat. She's always saying what a good "multi-tasker" she is, whatever that means. I let her play with my brothers most of the time and only demand her attention when I need food or have pooped my diaper. Okay, sometimes I do want her to hold me and talk to me. I especially like it when she talks to me in the morning. I seem to be in the best mood of the day when I wake from a full night sleep.

Speaking of sleep, I'm a really good night sleeper. I don't like to brag, but I only wake once to be fed. I don't even cry. I sorta grunt and mommy comes running! I really have her trained. Sometimes mommy is so tired that she will shut her eyes when she's feeding me and my bottle ends up in my ear. When she wakes, she says sorry and puts it back it my mouth. I love to be swaddled really tight, and prefer a binky when I can't quite get to sleep. If I have a hard time falling asleep I like to scream my head off, then pass out.

Being 8 weeks old is great. I don't have a schedule, I do what I want, and my mommy will jump through hoops to get me to stop crying. It's really funny. She keeps saying something about me sleeping in my crib for naps. I don't have the heart to tell her that I won't. She keeps trying to put my in there, but again, I cry and she comes running. Good mommy. I love my bouncy seat when it vibrates and especially love it when mommy gives it a little extra bounce. She usually knows to not stop bouncing until I'm asleep.

Anyways, I love my mommy, daddy and brothers a lot. I also really like the big furry animal everyone yells at, named Lola, and the grey furry thing that sniffs me often after I have a bottle. Life is good and it will only get better!

Poor Lola

No, it's not halloween yet. Lola is wearing the cone for a minor injury. Lola cracked her dewclaw and had to have it trimmed to the blood vessle. She has to wear the cone so she doesn't lick her paw. She's a little embarrassed of the cone but adjusting well. Adam put a sticker on it to make it pretty. It should be off in 5-7 days.

Adam and his quirks...

As many of you know, Adam has a weird phobia of walking on cracks. Sometimes when we are walking on the outside sidewalks he will stop at a crack and either crawl over or ask to be picked up. At first it was cute, now I'm wondering how long he will be scared of these cracks. We went to the mall this morning and he was almost impossible. (I put Maya in the stroller and have the boys walk beside me....in case you were wondering how I did it with all 3 kids.) He kept stopping because the floor would change from carpet, then tile, then wood floor. This has happened at the zoo when the sidewalk turned to a wood walkway and the library when he came across a water puddle on the sidewalk.

Another thing Adam has started doing is showing me his book and saying "it's stuck." He wants the pictures on the book off. Today he handed me a book that had a picture of candy and he was frustrated because he couldn't get the candy off. I'm wondering if his depth perception is off? Anyways, I love watching them learn and try to understand their world.

Oh, and at the mall today, the boys played in the play area and Adam kissed a little girl. He walked up to this little girl who was watching him play and he puckered up and she leaned in for a kiss. It's was sweet, innocent and little awkward. Watch out ladies...

Apple Picking

M.I.A...

Sorry it has been so long since I have actually posted an update. I have pictures to post too, but they will have to wait until I get my camera back from my friend. Anyways, things have been going very well with all of us.

Maya is such a good baby. She's so mellow and really only cries if she needs something. She sleeps in her crib at night from 10ish until 7ish, waking for only 1 feeding. During the day she sleeps mostly in her car seat, if we are running errands, or in her bouncy seat in the playroom. I really want to get her sleeping in her crib for naps soon, but I'm going to wait a few more weeks before I take on that challenge. She really doesn't have a set schedule, but I can usually predict her naps, so that helps with me planning my day.

Adam and Jack are so fun and challenging lately. I have really enjoyed watching them play together and wrestle with each other. They have so much energy that they need to burn off. I was thinking about enrolling them in gymnastics this winter. I try to tire them out with games of chase, wrestling on the couch and jumping on the cushions, and playing "stop and go", a game where they run and stop when I say. I'll do anything to try to burn them out. Chad's great with them because he takes them on bike rides, wagon rides, and just rough houses with them. I'm already getting nervous about being indoors for winter.

Chad and I have decided to potty train Jack. He sits on the toilet every time before his bath and pees. So I know he knows how to make himself go and can understand the urge to go. He also has taken his diaper off twice in the last three days to poop. Unfortunately, he poops on the floor when no one is looking. I know it will be a challenge but it needs to be done soon. I'm hoping Adam will follow Jack's lead. We'll see...

Grandma Jenny was just here for a visit to meet Maya and see the boys. It was so good to have her here. I'm sad all of my company has come and gone. Of course Nana is coming back in October to stay with us while Chad is in London. We can't wait! I was scared I was going to be alone with all three kids when Chad was gone, but Lorraine offered to come and help. I'm so not ready to deal with the kids on my own yet.

Anyways, I'll post current pics soon of all the kids and of us on our annual apple picking tradition.

Funny sleepers

I thought it was funny watching Maya sleep the other day. She likes to tilt her head up when she's in the bouncy chair. I remember Adam and Jack both liked to do that too. Here are some pics of all of them in their deepest sleep.
