Look who's a big girl!!
Maya got the go ahead from the doctor to start eating rice cereal. At first she wasn't too sure about it, but now she's a pro! Next month we will try veggies! Oh, boy!
She weighs 12 lbs 14 oz. She's in the 25th percentile for weight and 70th for height. Oh, and 30th for her head. Still has a small head! (a trait the Harris' do not have!)

What's new?
It's been awhile since I have actually posted an update on the kids. It's so much easier to post a pic or two, but I know, you all deserve more.
Adam's world - Adam has discovered the power of the word "please." For weeks and weeks I would coax and wish for the boys to say "the magic word." Now, Adam says it all the time, expecting to get what it is that he wants. "Cookie please", "Carry please", "Binky PLEASE!"
Adam has also started to talk more. He's putting words together and making sentences. Finally. I was getting worried that they weren't going to talk, English, that is. Adam still refers to himself as "Jack", but will respond to the name "Adam". Huh? Even Maya is "baby Jack" sometimes. At least I'm back to "mommy". For awhile I was "mom", which is not nearly as cute at "mommy." The problem is that he says my name, oh, like 100 times a day. We need to work on saying "daddy" more!
Adam is also my little helper. He will put things in the trash for me. He likes to shut the dishwasher, push the wet clothes in the dryer and push the start button. I've been working on making them bring their plates to the sink when they are done eating. This usually involves me rewarding them with a sticker (or bribing them with a Dora episode).
Jack's world - Jack is still my wild child. We've all been a little under the weather lately and the cabin fever is getting to him the most. He likes to leave the room and do naughty things. When he comes back and gives me that look, I'm like "oh crap, what did you do!" (note to self: quick saying "crap" before the kids start). Yesterday, it was dumping coffee on the bathroom floor and splashing in it. Today, it was running off with the remote control batteries. He loves the chase!
Jack is really in to his animals, still. He loves to watch this Dora episode that has animals in it. He will yell which animal they are talking about and I swear he said the number five in Spanish. Dora is their new favorite character. Actually the like "Boots" Dora's monkey friend. I'm thinking that's why Jack likes to wear his boots still.
Jack is talking more, too. His primary language is still Chinese, but he is learning his secondary language of English slowly. His favorite phrases are still "Oh, man" (another Dora connection), "Come on!" and "What you doing?" Also, his frequency with the word "please" is not quite as much as Adam, but he's working on it.
Maya's world - Maya is the perfect baby. She's really in to laughing at her brothers lately. If I hold her like Superman and act like she's going to fly towards one of the boys (especially Adam), she will belly laugh. It's so cute. She still smiles ALL the time. It's hard to be frusterated at 3:00am when she's smiling at me like I'm the most special person in the world.
I borrowed a new jumper toy from a friend. She sits in it and her feet dangle and touch the floor. She can jump like a wild woman and she loves it! Mostly Maya likes to be held and talked to. She also has discovered that she'd rather hang out with us than go to bed, so we've have some "crying it out" days.
Her 4 month doctor's appointment is on Tuesday, so I will update the stats then. I'm thinking she's about 12 pounds? We'll see.

3 kids, 2 adults and a dog!
This post is coming to you from Wichita, Kansas. The boys, Maya, Nana and I drove to Kansas City last Friday and now we are 3 hours south in Wichita. We left at 3:00 am (yes, that's AM!) on Friday morning. We figured we could knock some hours off of our 12 hour trip while the kids were sleeping. To our surprise, the boys stayed awake until 5:00ish. They just sat in their car seats quietly, with binky's and babies. After awhile, they took a nap, we got them breakfast, and watched several movies. Around noonish, we stopped at a McDonald's play area for about an hour. After they burned off some energy, we piled in the car again and arrived in KC 2 hours later. The trip was super easy. Maya only complained if she needed to eat or wanted to look at someone. Lola was a little bent out of shape because she couldn't ride shotgun! Every time Lorraine had to get in the back to feed Maya, Lola was right there to take her seat.
We stayed at Aunt Kim's house Friday to Monday. The boys were in heaven playing with Brooke and Blake. And, of course, they loved their dogs and cats, too. Saturday went to the park and saw Grandpa John and Terri. Sunday morning we saw our friend Charlie for breakfast, then went to Brooke's volleyball game in the afternoon. Monday morning we headed down to Nana and Papa's house.
Besides the fact that the boys have been going to bed later than usual, not taking naps, drinking lots of pop (thanks Aunt Kim!) and have major diaper rash, things have gone very well. Maya, of course, has been the perfect baby and is such a joy to be around.
Grandma Moorefield and I are planning on leaving Saturday afternoonish to start traveling back home. We will probably stop overnight in St.Louis, then finish our trip on Sunday. Since going home will be a 14 hour drive, we figured we wouldn't attempt to do it in one day.

Ha, Ha, Ha!
Maya had her first giggles today. It was so cute. I was holding her above my head pretending she was an airplane. She kept smiling big then shared a laugh. My heart melted! She's growing so fast. I just cleaned her summer clothes out of her closet. I can't believe my baby girl is growing out of some of her clothes.
The boys and I took advantage of the last nice fall day. It was warm and in the 70's. We made a huge leaf pile. We ended up raking our neighbors yard to get enough to jump in. Adam especially enjoyed throwing leaves and Jack liked running through them. It was a great day!

November is here
Wow, November is here! Why is it that time goes by so fast? I can't believe Maya is 3 months old and the boys are well on their way to being 3! I've been enjoying all of the kids and I'm extremely happy that things are settled and it feels like we've been a family of 5 for a long time. Oh, family of 7, can't forget Bax and Lola.
Speaking of Baxter, he's officially an indoor/outdoor cat. I found that when I got the boys out the door and turned around to grab Maya's car seat, he would sneak out. Of course, instead of leaving all three children unattended, I'd just let him stay outside until he came back. Now, I let him out if he's by the door and he usually stays within a few houses of ours. His consequence for being an outdoor cat was getting 3 shots (rabies, and 2 others) and regular flee prevention. Remember my post a while ago when Baxter went missing and I posted flyer's all over my neighborhood? What a waste of time...
Adam and Jack are doing great. They are talking more and have discovered the excitement of M&M's. They are the best bribe. Like when I'm calling them and they run the opposite way, I just say "who wants Chocey"! And they come running. Yes, chocolate is chocey. Everything they say has a "y" at the end of it. Like when Adam cries "Boxey" he simply wants a "juice box". Their doctor says they are right on track for talking, but we are watching them carefully;) Or when we are in a public place and they yell "sucky!", they are just wanting a sucker (so embarrassing.)
Maya is such a cutie! She smiles and talks all of the time! I thought she might have acid reflux because she was spitting so much, but the doctor informed me that she is a "happy spitter". So between many, many wet bids and several outfit changes during the day, she's a very low maintenance baby.
Can't believe the election is almost over! Finally! Jessi, Maya and I waited in line for 3 1/2 hours today to vote. Besides hoping the candidate I voted for wins, the best part of voting is the sticker they give you. Free Starbucks on Nov.4th for those who voted! Just show them your sticker. No, seriously, I hope everyone gets out there and does their part by voting.

Halloween!!

The boys had a fun Halloween. Even though tomorrow is actually halloween, our neighborhood had "trick-or-treating" today. Yesterday we carved all the pumpkins and make chocolate cupcakes with halloween sprinkles. Adam was very interested in the carving pumpkins activity, Jack on the other hand really didn't care.
Both the boys liked wearing their costumes. Adam loved his skunk costume so much that Chad had to practially tear it off him to put his p.j.'s on. They are now asleep after having a major sugar high. I kept catching Adam with a different candy in his mouth, so I'm not sure how much he actually ate. And Chad caught Jack hiding behing the couch eating a peanut butter cup.
Maya was super cute in her cow outfit. We have an older couple that lives across the street, so they held Maya while Chad and I took the boys to get some candy. I attempted to get a picture of all the kids, but you know how well that always goes.
