Home for the Holidays!

The boys and I are ready for our trip home. We are leaving Sunday morning and plan (I pray we don't have any delays) in Kansas City around 1:30 p.m. My dad will be meeting us at the airport so he can help with the boys while I get the rental car. If the boys are good and ready for a nap, then we will head straight to Wichita. Chad will be meeting us in Kansas City the following weekend. This will be my second time flying with the boys by myself. Hopefully it goes as well as the first time. If it's the trip from hell, at least it's a direct flight and a short one too.

Other than packing and cleaning, I'm ready. Tonight I am hosting the New Albany Moms Club Night Out. Once a month the Moms Club gets together WITHOUT KIDS! Gwen is in charge of planning the events and since she hosted last time, I offered to host this time. Of course, only if Gwen helped me! Looks like it will be a small group, since everyone either has plans or is sick. About 10 moms will be bringing a gift under $10.00 and a dessert. We will just hang out and play the gift exchange game. Hopefully Chad comes home early to help put the boys to bed...

Happy B-Day Chad!!

Today Chad is 35! Wow, when did that happen? Last night, our good friends, Tim & Jessi, took us out for a really nice dinner. Today we had a very relaxing day. Of course Chad slept in, until the boys woke him up at 8:30. Chad's present from me was what any husband would want for his birthday (not what you're thinking...) I gave him compromise. Chad has been wanting to rearrange our bedroom, but I didn't want it the way he wanted. So being the giving wife I am, we changed it how he wanted. To my surprise I like it. Later, we went shopping and, as usual, we bought stuff for the boys. We came home to eat dinner and have some cake. Since the cake served 48 (I couldn't help myself, Costco has really good cakes), I delived leftovers to several of our neighbors. We ended the day watching Shrek the Thrid with the boys. It was a good day!

Back and at 'em!

One week later and the Moorefield family is finally healthy. Sunday was the first time in 5 days that the boys left the house. We definitely had cabin fever. I can't imagine how this winter will be, all couped up inside. Luckily Chad never got sick.

What's new with the boys? Well, they have been going to the gym's daycare the last several days. Adam balls his eyes out when I leave and Jack could care less. I love the fact that I can workout and have a break from the boys, and I love that they get to play with other kids. I think it's good for them to be away from me, though it's hard to leave with Adam crying. When I come to get them, Adam grabs my legs and won't let me go.

Adam will say "ho, ho, ho" when asked what Santa says. Jack usually is the one to mimic me, but not this time. Adam is also still in to throwing everything! Poor Jack has had several toys chucked at his head. How do you teach a one year old that it's okay to throw a ball but not toys? Jack's new thing is to hand me every thing. He will pick a toy or piece of paper, whatever it is, and hand it to me. This new "fun" game of his can last quite sometime. The boys are still fighting over toys and getting on each others nerves, but also having lots of fun playing together. They love to make each other laugh.

I put up a 5 foot fake Christmas tree (picture above) in the playroom. The boys seem to really like it. It has multi colored flashing lights. I cut the alphabet out of foam paper and clipped the letters to the tree. I needed safe decorations since I knew the boys would be touching them. I don't let the boys pull on the tree but they are allowed to touch it. It wouldn't be any fun having a tree if they couldn't touch it. Of course no one likes the tree more than Baxter!

We are having our good friends Jessi and Tim over for Thanksgiving. We are hoping to get a turkey pre-made so we can just make the sides. This will be the boys' first Turkey day that they can eat some real food. Can't wait to eat some pie!!

Another Moorefield down

This has been a rough week for the Moorefields. Last night I came down with the flu. Thankfully it only lasted 24 hours, but boy it was awful! Chad stayed home from work today to take care of the boys while I rested. To make things worse, today Adam got hives all over his arms, legs and butt. I'm thinking a couple more days home and we all will be better.

Free Birds

My poor babies

This weekend we had a first for both boys. Friday night Adam got sick in the middle of the night. I didn't know this until we woke up on Saturday morning to find a mess in his crib. My little guy got sick and I didn't even know it. I'm not sure if he had a stomach bug or what. The rest of the day he was a tired and had a small fever. By Sunday he felt fine. Well, last night Jack woke up in the middle of the night and got sick. Chad and I both woke at 2am to a mess! We had to change his bedding and give him a bath. I felt so sorry for him. Hopefully when the doctors office calls back they can tell me what's wrong.

Other than attending to my sick children, nothing else it new. We are still so anxious for Christmas. I'm going to get my Christmas decorations ready to be put up next weekend. I know it's early, but since we are leaving town the 2nd week in Dec. I wanted to have time to enjoy them. I'm sure Chad is just thrilled to have a tree up so early! At least the boys will enjoy it.

Nana's visit

We had a wonderful visit with Nana. The boys sure LOVE their Nana! They would run past me to get to snuggle her. I think Lorraine got more hugs and kisses in her 6 days here than I have in the last month! It was so nice for me to have a break from ALL of the dirty diapers, feedings, baths, playing, running around, and discipline. (thanks Lorraine for ALL of your help!) We did the usual shopping, lounging, eating out, etc. It was wonderful! Can't wait to see Nana again in just 6 weeks!

First haircuts!

Adam and Jack got their first professional haircuts today. Grandma Jenny did some trimming when she was here, but it was time to get a full blown cut. Adam balled his eyes out during the whole thing. Jack fussed, but was more annoyed than anything. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. They look so much older with their new do's!

Dinner with friends. (thanks Gwen!)

Happy Halloween!!

Our neighborhood had it's annual "Halloween on the Green" party Saturday. The boys got another chance to show off their adorable lion costumes. I didn't dress up, but I did wear a witches hat. The boys also loved wearing the hat as you can see the pictures! I'm so excited to for Halloween. I'm thinking of taking the boys to a few of our neighbors houses, then let them "help" pass out candy until bedtime. I'm hoping Chad will be able to come home from work a little earlier than usual.

Nana is coming! Nana is coming! I'm so excited that Lorraine is coming on Thursday and staying until Wednesday. Kim and Brooke were hoping to come too, but plans changed and they will come after the first of the year. I'm so homesick for family. After this visit, we will just have a few weeks until we go to Kansas City for Christmas. I am also hoping to make a trip to Michigan sometime. It's only 5 hours away but for some reason the drive seems like more work than me flying alone with the boys to K.C.
